The Men’s team achieved an excellent 5 – 3 win against Weybridge today, despite only having two fit players.
A really good match, played in the right spirit, with every set closely fought. Knowle Hill lost two of their sets on tie breaks. Well done to both teams but especially to Tom, Rob C, Tony and Paul from Knowle Hill.
Tony had pulled out with a swollen ankle but declared himself fit (ish!) again at the last minute after the medication kicked in, and managed to help secure the two points that got us over the line!
The next club afternoon will be on December 17th at 1.00pm.
Why not come along and play a set or two or just pop in for a chat as we will be bringing some mince pies and other refreshments?
The men’s team to play Weybridge at home on Sunday 19th November will be Tom, Rob C, Tony and Paul.
Both courts will be used from about 12:45.
We will be holding another club afternoon on Sunday 12th November. Come along and mix in with other members for few sets from 1.30 pm.
Next time you’re down at the club check out our fabulous new Champions Board which was donated by the Moules family in memory of Simon Moules.
Despite picking up a couple of injuries, and already having a few players on the sidelines, the Men’s team put up a good fight in a close match against a strong Esher team and were unlucky to lose 6 – 2. The team was Tom, Rob C, Tony and Paul.
The next Men’s match will be at home to Weybridge on November 19th starting at 1.00 pm. Both courts will be used.
The Knowle Hill mixed team got off to a good start in the Winter season with a hard fought 4 – 4 draw at Esher on Sunday 29th October.
