Finals Day

On Sunday 4th September we held our annual Finals Day with a great day of tennis followed by a barbecue and social.

Well done to Hannah for winning the Junior Championship, Ross for winning the Men’s singles, Cathy for the Ladies singles, and Charlie and Paul for winning the doubles.

Courts closed / Club session cancelled

Today should be the last day of the current heatwave and looking at the predicted temperature it was decided to cancel the Club Session this afternoon.

The courts will be closed at 12 o’clock and then opened at 6.30 this evening by which time it is forecast to be cloudy and starting to cool down.

Next week the courts will be fully open again and it is hoped that no further closures will be necessary. The club session will take place as normal.

Men’s team win

Well done to the Men’s team that won at Wraysbury tonight 7 – 1 in a good match played in a good spirit

The KHTC team was Nick, Tom, Ross and Peter

This extends our unbeaten run to seven games

We have two matches remaining; both re-arranged and both at home:

18th August versus Bagshot

24th August versus Foxhills

Both courts will be used for both matches, weather permitting

Court Closures

Unfortunately the predicted high temperatures this week mean that the courts will have to be closed from 12 o’clock every day this week until Monday 15th August.
Play should be possible early in the mornings and in the evenings after 7 pm by which time the surface should start to cool down.

We are keeping the situation under review and further updates will be provided if these provisional timings need to change.

Courts open

The very hot weather seems to be over for now and so we’re going to suspend our daily bulletins and the courts will generally be open for play. We’ll keep this under review.

Meanwhile, a reminder to protect our new courts. Before playing, please can you check to see if the courts are too hot. The test is if you can comfortably hold the palm of your hand on the court surface for 20 seconds. If you can’t, the courts are at risk of damage and shouldn’t be played on.

Court opening

We’re hoping to be able to keep the courts open all day tomorrow.

To protect our new courts, before playing, please check to see if the courts are too hot. The test is if you can comfortably hold the palm of your hand on the court surface for 20 seconds. If you can’t, the courts are at risk of damage and should not be played on.
